Road to Quantum Utility Workshop 2025: Using quantum devices with more than 100 qubits
Posted by:Webmaster On 2025-01-08

Quantum computing represents a revolutionary computational paradigm. Leveraging quantum properties like superposition, entanglement, and interference, it can dramatically accelerate solutions for specific problems, influencing future technology, society, and industry. As quantum devices surpass the 100-qubit threshold, the opportunities to solve complex problems in fields such as Quantum physics and chemistry, quantum machine learning, and combinatorial optimization are becoming increasingly tangible. However, the path to achieving practical quantum utility is still fraught with challenges, from error mitigation/correction and scalability to algorithm development and hardware integration.

Workshop Overview

The goals of the Road to Quantum Utility Workshop 2025 are to provide a platform for participants to explore the practical applications and challenges of utilizing quantum devices with over 100 qubits as well as to provide lectures and hands-on sessions to support their Road-to-Utility (R2U) research projects.  The workshop lectures and hands-on sessions will be conducted by IBM Quantum experts. emphasizing on the latest quantum hardware and software advancements and accelerating progress in realizing the full potential of quantum computing for real-world applications.

The targeted participants are quantum researchers or developers who have pretty good knowledge and skills in Qiskit and have experience in using IBM Quantum hardware.

Topics include:

  • IBM Quantum updates and advances in quantum hardware and software, including the Qiskit 1.0 platform, Qiskit Add-ons, and Qiskit Functions.
  • Quantum computing with physics and chemistry.
  • Quantum machine learning.
